Personal Bio: Martin was born in Chingford, East London and started playing soccer from the age of 6. Growing up Martin played for several local teams such as Brimsdown Rovers, Haringey Borough and Ilford FC as well as representing his District (Waltham Forest) throughout his high school years.

He played for the University of Hertfordshire first team during his time at College and notably won promotion back to the South Premier Division in 2008. Martin got his first experience of coaching with ‘Step into sport’, a program designed to engage young athletes to become leaders in sport, in the run up to the 2012 Olympic games in London. From his early positive experience with working with young players, he got the opportunity to coach youth soccer teams near Hertfordshire.

Eventually Martin would go on to coach abroad with Challenger sports in 2011, starting in the Midwest region working soccer camps. He then worked with Fraser SC in Michigan, gaining valuable travel soccer experience before moving to Illinois in 2012. Martin has 10 years experience coaching travel teams in the western suburbs with both Chicago Rush and Team Chicago, and coached Oswego High School Boys JV in 2017.
